Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much does it cost to have a piece of equipment diagnosed?

We collect a diagnostic fee upfront to cover the cost of evaluating your equipment. For most equipment, that fee is $45, however, extensive diagnoses may incur additional fees which may or may not be applied to approved service repairs. Cost for engine teardowns are typically separate fees and not applied to related repairs.

  • What happens to the diagnostic fee paid at the time of drop-off?

The diagnostic fee (typically $45) is applied to any services you authorize once we have inspected and diagnosed the equipment. If no services are authorized, the diagnostic fee is absorbed by BPS to cover the cost of evaluating the equipment.

  • How long will my equipment be in the shop?

While there are too many variables involved to be able to give a clear answer on this up front, the service writer WILL provide a date for first contact, meaning when we will call you and let you know what issues we have found with the service piece. Once we have evaluated what repairs are needed, what parts need to be ordered, etc. we will provide an updated lead time estimate for completion.

  • What equipment do you work on?

We service the makes and models we sell. Please call us if you have a piece of equipment that is not a brand we carry, as we may be able to help.

  • What’s included in a tune-up or seasonal service?

Depending on the type of equipment, a tune up will consist of spark plug replacement, air filter replacement, fuel filter replacement, sharpening blades and cleaning deck and complete unit inspection.

  • Do you offer pickup/delivery?

Yes, for an additional fee, pickup and delivery is available.

  • Do you have mobile service/on-site diagnostics?

We do not currently offer onsite service/diagnostics.
